Family Book Club

We're so excited for our Jane Austen Family Book Club! I wanted to talk about some of the activities we will be doing alongside our reading.

1) Don't let the book be daunting! Jane Austen wrote Pride and Prejudice intended for adults but our copy is kid friendly for ages 7 and up! It even comes with really cute illustrations.

2) Don't know who Jane Austen is? That's ok! We'll have a brief explanation of this amazing author during our first meeting.

3) We will also try writing with a quill feather during our first meeting, just like Jane Austen would have done!

4) During our second week, we're going to try our hand and making bookmarks using a type of needlework- which was a very popular hobby back then. We're also going to decorate some paper fans.

5) Our final week will consist of a fancy tea party with drinks and snacks as well as some small games. And we're going to make bonnets out of straw hats because you can't be at a fancy tea party without your fancy bonnet!

6) Of course, we will be answering questions about the book every week. When you pick up the book, you'll get the first week's worth of questions.

We're really excited to bring the world of Jane Austen to the families who decide to join our book club!
