Building Fund

The Garden City Library Building Fund is raising money to construct a new building to house the Garden City Public Library, including all the necessary furniture and equipment needed for a modern library. Whether your donation is $5 or $500, you will help ensure the community has a modern space for new moms to connect at baby story-times; for elderly people to attend events and make new friends during a time filled with difficult life transitions; where teens can meet up after school in the library’s teen space; and where readers can discuss current events.

Let’s do this together!

Building Fund: Building With Your Support!

In 2013, the Garden City Library Board approved the creation of a non-profit public charity called the GARDEN CITY LIBRARY BUILDING FUND, INC. The purpose of the Building Fund is to solicit donations for a future library building in Garden City.

The Building Fund is a separate and distinct body from the Library Board. Donations for a new Library are not used for any other purposes.  Property purchased with Building Fund money is under the exclusive control of the Garden City Library Board.

Give today!  No donation is too small or too large. Make your donation by cash or check (made payable to “Garden City Library Building Fund”) at the Library during normal business hours or by mail at:

The Need

Users of the Garden City Public Library know we need more space.

  • We have no study rooms.
  • We have no program rooms.  (Programs are held in the staff offices.)
  • We have only two study tables.
  • Our shelves are crowded.
  • There are not enough electric outlets.

That is why we are asking for donations. We need your support.  Every dime helps, but it will take a lot of dimes to build a new Library. So come back to this page to find out about our fund-raising events.
